Today is 12/12/12. Mom always says twelve is her favorite number, so I’m hoping, well, we’re both hoping, that means some fabulous things are in store for today. It’s a great day for dreams to come true. Maybe the universe will agree. Hopefully some luck will head your way as well.
You are lucky to have found this wonderful holiday cookie recipe. I have wanted to make these Cherry Vanilla Cookies from Sugar Plum since she posted them. They looked so yummy and inviting, full of a lot of my favorite ingredients. I made a few changes to them, including making them bigger, because I’m obsessed with giant cookies, and they are some of the best cookies I’ve ever made.
A double dose of vanilla, beans and extract, dried cherries, white baking chips, and sliced almonds enhance a basic sugar cookie dough. The end result is a cookie that is anything but basic. It will impress holiday guests with its wonderful vanilla flavor and tons of mix ins. Vanilla bean is one of my favorite ingredients to add to cookies. The flavor of vanilla bean is so rich and warm in cookies and makes them better than your average cookie.
I’m sharing the cookie love this holiday season on Zesty Cook. Zesty has an amazing blog with some seriously killer recipes. He was kind enough to allow me to join in the fun and guest post with these cookies. So please head over there to take a look at this wonderful recipe that your holidays should not be without.

Sugar Plum’s blog was actually one of the first blogs I started reading. I was making her recipes before I even started of thinking about a blog of my own.
