You know about my obsession with nail polish. I’m also pretty obsessed with shoes. So when Christian Louboutin announced he had created a nail polish, I snapped it up immediately upon its release.
The box came quickly and I couldn’t wait to tear it open. The bottle is insane. The huge, pointed top of the bottle stands out from all the other polishes in my collection – literally – by at least half a foot. It is huge and striking, more so than any other bottle in my collection. It belongs on a dresser to be displayed at all times, not stuck in some cabinet.
The bottom of the bottle is enclosed in a box. I actually thought it was the bottle for a few days! When I removed it, I revealed a beautiful ombre bottle. I read somewhere the bottles take 22 weeks to make.
But the real test, of course, is the polish itself. The huge pointed brush is easy to use, but it makes the bottle top heavy so be careful it doesn’t tip over.
Each coat of nail polish is supposed to be like twenty coats of traditional polish. Right now, Christian Louboutin’s signature red is the only color available, but more colors come out at the end of the month.
The color is vibrant and for a red, I think it would look good on many different skin tones. It goes on well and is forgiving for a non-sparkly color. It is not quite as opaque as I would have thought, but it wears quite well and I’m glad to have it as a part of my collection. It also came off easily when I was ready to remove it. I’m sure I’ll add more colors in the future. It’s a great way to get a little Christian Louboutin and red sole in your life.
