I’m a big fan of floral patterns. I have quite a few in my wardrobe. Here in Florida, they are kind of appropriate to wear year round, but with fall thankfully in the air, I want to change things up in my wardrobe too.
Sure, there are some fall floral prints, but I have been gravitating more toward the deeper tones and eye catching vibes of more abstract prints. Dresses that feel like fall in their color scheme and more serious vibes. Dresses that make you take a second look and even then, everyone can take something different away from what exactly is printed on them.
Take these dresses for example. What do you see? It’s not a test. There’s no right or wrong answer and I’m definitely not judging you. I simple doubt we all would have the same answer.
The blue dress with it’s grey swirls makes me think of stars and the cosmos. I feel like if I looked through a telescope I might see something similar. The way the delicate fabric moves, thanks in part to the draping and the bold shoulder pads give the simple silhouette character.
I paired it with a blue bag and silver shoes to pair with the colors in and feel of the dress.
The black dress with green and blue print reads kind of floral or plant based but could also be in the tie dye family, splotches of this color and that color without any rhyme or reason to create an end result that is eye catching with the full skirt and ruffles.
Black shoes and bag would go with this dress but I chose lime green shoes and a grey bag instead to add something a little extra to the dress. With all those colors it’s definitely versatile. Of course that’s the great thing about patterns of all kinds.
