These photos were taken on two different days almost two years apart. I still love this candy apple red dress that has a lovely sundress silhouette, a feminine bow at the waist, and spunky splotches of white to give it all kinds of personality. It’s a dress that will always steal my heart for all kinds of occasions. I still remember when I bought it and the first time I wore it (to an Imagine Dragons concert).
One of the reasons I like to invest in staple and statement pieces like this is that after wearing the dress many times over five years, I still love it. It still makes me smile. It still makes me feel special.
The blue sky, straight hair photos were taken not too long after we moved to Florida. At that point I was still figuring out my place in Orlando. If I loved it. If I wanted to live here forever. Things still felt pretty fast paces and feelings from the move and the pandemic were still pretty raw. It was a fun day, don’t get me wrong, but my feelings were still very much in flux.
The gloomy, curled hair photos were taken not long ago at all. And now Orlando is kind of the apple of my eye like this dress. It doesn’t feel as crazy fast paced. Instead now I like the excitement, the plethora of things to do. I have found my favorite hang outs, the places that spark joy, and there are so many more places to explore. I definitely see Orlando being my home for a long time.
It’s funny how some things change, how we figure things out, and some things really do stay the same and stand the test of time.
