The more we explore Detroit, the more cool things we find. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a city with a lot of problems and I’m still California dreaming, but particularly in the summer, I don’t mind at all spending time in Detroit and the surrounding areas.
A few weeks ago, in preparation of our trip to Standby, I noticed the alley in which it is located looked super cool. And I was not disappointed.
I’m sure it takes on a whole other exciting and interesting vibe at night, but as the sun was setting, it was just lovely with the strings of lights and brightly colored graffiti. It’s a fun place to hang out.
Because I knew it was going to be a long day with the opera and dinner, and the weather was nice, but a little chilly with a chance of rain, I took this into consideration with my outfit.
The dress is fun and funky but sophisticated enough for the opera. My new denim jacket (that I am deep love with) was perfect for keeping me warm without ruining my outfit. And I could climb Mount Everest with YSL tribute sandals.
It was a fun day and a fun look in a cool place. Here’s to hoping it’s merely a sign of things to come this summer.
Also, Mom got the same jacket as me in a different color. I’m hoping we can share 😀
