I told you earlier in the week about our fun night out at the Belle Isle Garden Party and Michael Symon’s Roast restaurant. I wanted to give you a closer look at my outfit for the evening.
I saw this Saint Laurent dress on MyTheresa at 70% off. It’s ordinarily a dress I would never, ever purchase, but given that steep discount, I fell in love. I showed Mom who wasn’t as smitten, so I tried to let it go, but kept looking at it and looking at it and looking at it.
Finally I took the leap, despite the fact that duties on it would only be refunded via a store credit. I knew I could find something else to buy and I had to have this dress. It was a fashion leap of faith.
When the dress came, I loved it even more than I did online. Other than my blue Jason Wu, it’s my favorite dress. Those two dresses are the only times I removed something from the box and gasped at its beauty.
Luckily the dress fit and I couldn’t be happier it found a home in my closet.
I love mixing gold and silver, so I paired the silver beading on the dress (in the shape of stars, my favorite!) with gold glittered shoes. You should never be afraid to mix gold and silver, like navy and black, they are friends.
Have you ever taken a fashion leap of faith?
Dress: Saint Laurent // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Bag: Louis Vuitton // Necklace: Tiffany // Earrings: Ivanka Trump
It’s a lovely dress
What a gorgeous dress and it fits you perfectly! I, too, mix gold and silver on a daily basis. They just go together so nicely. And this outfit should be a favorite as you look fantastic! Once I wore red and pink together and got a lot of flack that you don’t pair the two…. I liked it so I wore it! That was many years ago though and haven’t ventured too far from “normal” fashion since!!
I love red and pink together! I have definitely done that, especially with pink/red lipstick and the opposite in my outfit. I need to feature that combo on the blog. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
A discount makes most everything more desirable. A plunging neck line is always a good thing.
