You may have heard about the new Shinola Hotel and its signature restaurant San Morello. In fact proprietor Andrew Carmellini even spoke about it on the Today show earlier this week.
I kicked off my birthday celebration early with a stop there last weekend. Though inches of snow threatened to cancel plans, Mom and Dad felt we should forge ahead. Though the roads were less than stellar to say the least, we made it there and back safely and had a great time. Judging by the crowds, the snow didn’t stop much of anyone.
The Shinola Hotel seems to be an excellent place to celebrate things big and small or just hang out and escape the every day hustle and bustle.
From the lobby to San Morello to Evening Bar, it is stunning and meticulous and the staff is there to help at every turn.
My favorite touch was the Polaroid they took at San Morello while a sparkler blazed in front of me. What an awesome touch and little token of the evening.
More restaurants are on the way and I can’t wait to head back to see its continued evolution. Also come back next week for a detailed review of San Morello and Evening Bar.
For the outing I wore a floral print dress because why not? It also felt very old school Italian kind of like the restaurant. My classic black coat didn’t hamper the look and in fact added to the sophisticated vibe and bridged the currently very large gap between winter and spring.
I’m 29 in 2019 and I can’t wait to see what is in store.
