This outfit has none of the traditional Christmas colors in it. No red or green, not even any gold or silver. Black, blue, and pink don’t typically say a lot about Christmas.
But there’s something about this outfit with the super sparkly sequins and crystals, the velvet fabrics, the sweetheart neckline, and that hair bow that screams holiday season to me.
I felt so festive wearing this outfit. Of course it helps that there was a bit of a chill in the air, allowing me to wear this dress for the first time since I bought it, and I was hanging out at the Four Seasons which is allllllll decorated for the season. But still, I was basically singing Christmas music in my head all day (and okay fine some Taylor Swift. I mean have you listened to the vault tracks from 1989???), and I cannot wait to wear this outfit again before the season is over.
It was also my first time wearing the hair bow, which coincidentally I received last Christmas as a present. I wish I had not waited so long because it is beyond cute and added serious pizzazz to the outfit, as it would any look.
The holiday season doesn’t have to be defined by certain colors. Any color can be festive if it has a little sparkle and shine or is in a warm weather fabric. Little accessories and details make a huge difference too. Imagine a basic black sweater and jeans. Not very holiday, but pop this hair bow in, and boom – Christmas.
Like any season, the holidays are all about wearing what you love and feel comfortable in. If it puts you in the spirit, that’s all that counts.
