I’m kind of obsessed with Brandon Maxwell and always searching for a piece I love in my size, and on sale since he’s one of the priciest designers out there. No such luck yet, but I did find this amazing dress for Mom.
But I’m wearing it, so what gives?
Well, the dress is a shift, which means it’s a fashionable bag. Even Mom adds a belt when she wears it and suggested I try it with a belt. Unsurprisingly, I fell in love in an instant and doubt Mom will be seeing the dress again anytime soon 😉
It’s a perfect dress for chilly evenings since it has a built in cape, but it’s cool enough to wear in warmer weather as well.
I wore it on a freezing cold night, where I darted in an out of the evening’s destinations: Apparatus Room and Castalia Cocktails. I highly recommend both. Apparatus Room is one of my top picks for dining in the city and is possibly the most beautiful restaurant in the city. The food and service never disappoint and it’s just an awesome place to hang out.
Castalia was still in previews when we checked it out. It is open now and has to be on your list of places to visit in Detroit. The unique cocktails, offered in both regular and mini form, are an adventure for your mouth and nose since the place is a fragrance shop during the day.
It was a fun night and one of my favorite outfits.
