Celestial Navigation #FashionFriday

It is about time one of my titles is a reference to The West Wing as it is the reason I became a writer.  I’ve recently gotten back into watching it and am feeling rather inspired by it (and definitely still Taylor Swift – always Taylor Swift).  This episode from season one is one of my favorites and I would be lying to you right now if I told you I was not watching the episode on HBOMAX as I write this.

It is about, among other things, a series of events that happen in the White House that don’t exactly go according to plan.  Some of them were human error, some just life.  Because we all make mistakes and sometimes life just happens.

Monday was my 33^rd birthday.  I turned 33 on 1.23.23, a series of numbers I am more than a little obsessed with.  Without getting into everything, my birthday, and in fact the entire beginning to the year that is 2023, has been a bit rocky, and definitely hasn’t gone according to plan.  I have done my best to make the most of it and pivot, and I have hopes that I can turn it around.  But it’s hard to navigate a year and birthday that feel more like disasters than celebrations in a lot of ways.

In honor of the power of this year’s birthday number, as well as the recent new moon and the hopes that it will usher in a more positive celestial environment (Mercury was in retrograde y’all), I dressed up in a celestial inspired outfit to start the next year of my life on a star powered and inspired note.  I spend a lot of time looking at the moon and stars and I do believe in the power of the cosmos, so I was all too happy to literally wear my feelings on my sleeve.

A star studded (literally) dress, some giant Saturn earrings (I mean Adele is inspiring too), crystal encrusted ocean inspired shoes, and a bag with a stardust inspired charm helped me do a little celestial navigation of my own in this world that I’m constantly trying to understand and fit into.
