I don’t wear jeans much … okay ever. I honestly never did. I had a couple pairs of jeans as kid, bootcut flared jeans with extra personality, of course. But even when I had jeans, I didn’t wear them all that much, gravitating toward other pieces in my closet and dresser.
I don’t even own jeans now. They’re not my style. But I still love denim. Give me denim jackets, skirts, a new top, and dresses, of course. These two denim dresses are both pretty sophisticated and bright as far as denim goes. They remind me of spring, and I love them both since they have their own distinct vibe.
The blue and white denim dress with the waist tie is structured and perfect for any outing. It’s easy to dress up or down and pop with plenty of colors. I chose blue and pink. I also added the two butterfly hairpins I own to my look. I have never worn them together, but I went for it, and it turned out to be a great way to elevate the dress even more.
The pink multicolored dress has the most beautiful color palate but a much more relaxed silhouette. I wouldn’t wear this for a fancy event, but it’s a great day dress, and by adding a belt and more bright accessories, I kept a fun but elevated feel that is more casual than my typical attire. I really enjoyed that because I love to mix up what I wear.
For me fashion is creativity and experimentation. I definitely have some favorite pieces that I wear over and over again, but more often than not, I enjoy choosing an outfit I haven’t worn before. Mixing and matching different tops and bottoms, choosing new accessories, adding a skirt over a dress. Sometimes it doesn’t work and I have to go change, but other times, I end up feeling a jolt of creative energy wearing an outfit that’s new to me, even if it isn’t new in my wardrobe.
