Just because it’s October and officially fall and most definitely officially after Labor Day, doesn’t mean we need to put away all the floral prints, flowy dresses, sandals, and crisp white attire. I mean, they’re calling for a warmer than normal October, and ya’ll we have freaking EARNED it!
I did wear this outfit a few weeks ago, but don’t get it twisted, I will totally break it back out in order to pretend like I’m on a tropical vacation.
It does look like I’m on a tropical vacation in these pictures, doesn’t it?
But I’m not. Just hanging at one of my favorite spots, Bistro Joe’s, with some of my favorite people in one of my favorite dresses. Especially this year, but really during any year, this night was totally a win. If you’re in the metro Detroit area, definitely check out Bistro Joe’s for amazing food and service. We’ve loved everything we’ve had, but the steak tartar, prime steaks, Chilean sea bass, and brussels sprout appetizer are pretty much too tasty for words.
Going out, supporting restaurants, taking a break from the world, celebrating nothing at all with fabulous people, those things are more important than ever.
Maybe wearing flowy dresses, hot pink, and sky high heels is important to for a break from whatever this nonsense all is.
This is a summer floral I’m transitioning to fall. It can transition further with a denim jacket. But florals with darker, more vibrant colors are even more perfect for all with their moodier but still nature inspired vibe.
And can we talk about the insane sunset we saw that night? OMG! It was out of this world, and the first magical sky I’ve had the chance to experience and enjoy this year.

Good sunset pictures! We haven’t been out to eat in forever — not even outdoors. Weird life we’re living, huh?

I’m sorry you haven’t eaten out at all, John. This is not only a strange time, but also a time when we need to follow our own instincts, and I’m glad you’re doing what works for you.
