Not 50 shades of gray 😉
Gray can seem like a boring color, but recently on a chilly day, I paired some of my favorite gray accessories and it turned out to be my favorite fall/winter outfit ever.
I feel like when I’m dressing for cold weather, I never look that great with my coat covering everything, but this outfit really came together and kept me pretty warm with all the layers.
It all started with my favorite cashmere sweater. It’s soft and cuddly and always easy to wear and pair with things like this denim skirt.
Then there’s my favorite Gucci wrap. It was one of the best things I ever bought. This is the third winter I’ve worn it and I grab it all the time. It is rather warm and it’s easy to throw in my bag once I arrive at my destination. I really like how it blends with my hair as well.
Then because I didn’t want to be cold I added a gray Kate Spade scarf with gemstone and sequin embellishment. Mom helped me twist it around my neck so it looked polished.
My favorite gold heart necklace is showcased well. My parents purchased it for me right after my grandfather died, so I always feel like when I wear it he watched over me. It is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry and I’ve had it about 13 years.
A classic red Prada bag and matching pumps add a bit of color to keep the look from being too monochromatic. The shoes are actually Christian Louboutin and I purchased the pieces separately, but somehow they match exactly.
The next time you are dressing for a cold day, I hope my look inspires you. Fashion doesn’t have to drop just because the temperature is!

I love your wrap! I wore some Prada pumps to church tonight and they are SO high! I had to hold onto Bill while I walked—lol.
Thanks, Liz. I bet you will get used to the shoes. My mom has a pair of Prada pumps that she wears everywhere. I have a pair of evening sandals that I love too. You should practice around the house – that always helps me get used to a new pair of shoes.

Gray (grey? I am never sure which to use) is my favorite color for clothing and decor. It’s such a classy neutral. Again, your heel ability is enviable. I was at a friend’s wedding over the weekend, and it felt like I was the only gal in flats. I know heels are sexier but I figure falling on my face isn’t sexy, either.
