Any time of year is a good time to go shopping in my book, but there’s something about spending a chilly fall or winter day in the warm mall. Particularly this time of year, it’s a great way to get Christmas gift ideas and check out all the holiday displays.
Mom and I recently took a trip to our favorite local mall, Somerset, and spent the day walking around and shopping. It was so fun to be there not looking for anything in particular. We even picked up a pair of shoes at Kate Spade that we can share. Impulse buys are the best!
And I picked up my new Sydney Evan ear cuff. I’m obsessed with it!
I love dressing up even when we are shopping. It’s so nice to present my best side to the world. I get wanting to be comfortable while shopping, and this is how I am comfortable. Maybe I belong in the 1950s when people dressed up to do anything and everything 🙂
I paired my favorite black cashmere sweater with little gemstone button accents with a black skirt with subtle tonal black polka dots and silver floral embroidery. The skirt is one of my favorite pieces in my closet and works well with the sweater.
I stuck with the black and metallic theme with my shoes and added a pop of color with my purse. I pretty much just wanted to carry that purse, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a purse that doesn’t match your outfit.
What do you usually wear shopping?
Sweater: Ralph Lauren Black Label // Skirt: Armani Collezioni // Shoes: YSL // Bag: Burberry Prorsum

I usually dress up a bit but can not wear such high heels to walk around while shopping. Would absolutely kill my back. Last time I wore tights with a tunic and boots (low heeled boots).

Sounds like a good look 🙂

lol 1-you 100% belong in the 50’s.
2-loove the ear cuff!

I really love that outfit. I’ve been stalking some of the high end thrift sites recently (The Outnet, The Real Real, etc) hoping to pick up some more designer labels. Quality is everything.

Quality really is so important. I have had the same cashmere coat for ten years, some shoes for 5 or more years. You can also check out Gilt, Myhabit, Ideeli, and Neiman Marcus even has a Midday Dash that I have gotten some great things from. End of season sales, which are just about to get going, at Net-a-Porter, Moda Operandi, Neiman, and Saks. As I write these posts, I realize I’ve gotten many things in my closet on sale, including this skirt.
