I’m not a huge fan of bows and ruffles and girly accents like that on clothes. But as with anything there are exceptions. I have a favorite pair of shoes with a bows and a dress with ruffles in the front, and then there is this blouse.
This blouse is delicate and beautiful made from a light as air silk chiffon and accented with ruffles front and back from the cuff to the collar. It’s not something I would have just picked up off the rack, but I saw it on a model years ago at an event Neiman Marcus threw for some customers.
They’ve since pretty much stopped throwing those parties, and I wish they hadn’t because that night was amazing. It was in a rustic, modern space that was decorated impeccably. Long tables filled the room. We sat in the window filled room watching the sun set as a delightful dinner was served and models walked the room wearing the latest arrivals.
Though they made all the clothes look great (isn’t that a model’s job?), this blouse was my favorite item and I had to have it. I actually got the last one in the whole company, and though I don’t wear it often, mostly due to its delicate nature, it always reminds me of that fond memory when I wear it.
Because it is so striking on its own, I pair it with a simple black skirt. I did add my favorite bag and some purple shoes for tonal pops of additional color.

Sounds like a fun event! I’ve never been to anything like that, although when I was young (and mortgage-poor) I went to a twice-a-year sample sale where I could buy terrific clothes for work. Other than that, my favourite fashion memory is probably going to the vintage store where my daughter works and having her help me buy something!
Sample sales always sound so fun and like a great way to pick up some fab finds. Unfortunately there are no samples sales anywhere near me.
My favorite fashion memory is when I went to your house and your mom and you took me to find two dresses to wear to my stepson’s wedding!! We found two great dresses and had a great time together! Thanks, again for the wonderful day.
