Favorite Posts of 2017

This year has gone shockingly fast.  It’s been a year of ups and downs, but definitely great music, food, and fashion.  Today, I’m sharing my favorite posts with you in case you missed them.  It was fun to revisit the events of the year and I hope you enjoy the look back as well.

Favorite Recipes

Salted Caramel Carrot Cake – This is one of the best things I have made in a long time.  Though it is a bit of a labor of love, it is worth every single second.

Blueberry Sticky Buns – Though it wasn’t the first recipe I posted, this is the first recipe I made this year and I am still thinking about and craving these sticky buns.  They are absolute heaven.

Lemon Bars with Poppy Seed Shortbread – Lemon bars have always been a favorite in my house and this poppy seed crust totally takes them to the next level.

Strawberry Banana Shortcake Layer Cake – I had been thinking about making a cake like this for awhile and when I finally got to it, it did not disappoint.  The banana cake on its own is outstanding, and then with the strawberries and whipped cream – OMG!

Frozen Peach Margaritas – It’s so fun creating drink recipes, especially when they are as irresistible as these.  Since they are made with frozen peaches, they are just the thing to brighten up winter.

Cherry Poke Cake – This was my first every poke cake and it won’t be my last.  The cake itself is paleo and one of my all time favorite cakes.  Who knew?

Perfect Scrambled Eggs – This seems like a simple recipe, but it is one of my go tos and all time favorites.  The eggs are great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and those cauliflower steaks aren’t too shabby either.

Favorite Fashion Posts

I have loved experimenting with and posting about fashion, almost more so than food.  It was hard to choose, but I whittled my favorites down to two.

Baby You’re a Firework – This post is everything I love about life: Mom, summer, flowers, bright colors, and Dad who took the pictures.

Small Town Vibes – This was a hot summer day, and we almost stayed home, but I am so glad we went to Fenton because it ended up being one of my favorite days EVER!

Favorite Concert

This was a tough choice since I saw so many beyond amazing shows this year.  Bon Jovi, Bruno Mars, and Imagine Dragons were close runners up, but OneRepublic really stole my heart.  It was a confluence of events that led to the perfect night and I will never forget it.
