I’m already in the holiday vibe, as you can probably tell by these outfits. The weather is cooler, the sun is setting earlier (yes, these things are even true in Florida), and once Halloween is over we are off to the races, making all the plans, buying gifts, and relishing in the season for as long as we can. The world is a crazy place … why not enjoy what we can for as long as we can?
So I am already dressing as though Christmas is just around the corner, at least in Florida. These dresses wouldn’t fly for a Michigan holiday, at least not without a giant coat covering them up.
It’s great to wear green or red for the holidays (you’ll notice the red accessories as a nod to the season), but there is something about the glimmer of gold that sparks my soul and reminds me of the spark the season always has. It’s that glint of joy and hope that exists. That’s what gold, metallic dresses and accents are … that little touch that brings something extra to an outfit, that makes you glow from the outside in.
The red accessories are paired with a dress with all the metallics. I have always been one to mix metals and this dress is another example of how well they all work together, of how they are meant to be worn confidently together.
Of course, if you aren’t quite ready to wear a completely gold dress, a hint can be just as impactful, especially when paired with a metallic fabric. Subtle metallics are just as special, if not more so, as the bold gold dress. They make you take a second, closer look, make you appreciate the nuance.
Like most things in life, there is more than one way to gild the lily, more than one way to wear gold, more than one way to spread your shimmer.
