This kind of glowing golden hour sunset is the kind of thing I live for, especially here in Florida, especially at the Four Season’s rooftop restaurant Capa where the view is pretty much unparalleled. But it’s summer, so that means around sunset time, it can still be ninety degrees or more with high humidity. That kind of weather keeps me in the comfort of air conditioning.
But on a recent night the temperature wasn’t too high, neither was the humidity, and there was an almost refreshing breeze, plus the Saharan dust drifting in promised a beautiful view.
I was actually at the Four Seasons for a gallery event for Disney fine artist Dom Corona. I’ve met him before, and he’s the nicest guy who creates some pretty fantastic art. The event featured some of his whimsical creations and was a lot of fun to check out. I’ll take any excuse to get dressed up and go out, but it’s so much better when I can show some support for an artist.
Though I create a different kind of art, I totally respect people with a creative vision and the drive to take it from a dream to reality. Dom has done that and it’s really cool to see. It was even cooler to meet his mom and aunt who were so happy for him and the lovely event.
I headed up to Capa after and just relished in the glory that is a beautiful Orlando evening. It was everything I hoped and more. Great views, fresh air, nice people, and a cocktail or two – what more can I ask for?
I pulled out a dress I haven’t worn in a bit (without realizing it matched the color scheme of one of Dom’s paintings) that is fit for a party. It makes a big statement and actually made someone ask if it was custom made for me. I paired it with a fun bag and some sparkly shoes because why not?
I can’t wait to see more of that sunset glow.
