Fall is definitely not my favorite time of year because it means the end of summer and in my opinion, it doesn’t really get better than summer.
Therefore, as long as it is reasonably warm and sunny out, I will be wearing all my summer clothes. Pastels? Check. Sundress? Check. Frose? Definitely check. Even when it’s cold out, give me a jacket (and okay valet) and I’m going to keep dressing like it’s mid-July.
However, when I went to see Valentina at Alex Emilio, I wanted to switch up my hair color. I didn’t do this because it’s fall; I did it because I don’t always like myself as a straight up blonde. I wanted something different, something complex, like me, for better or worse.
Valentina really listened and we created a look I love. It is different. It is complex. It feels like it was made just for me. I’m glad to have met Valentina and look forward to having her do my hair again, also to hanging out in Alex Emilio’s shiny new Birmingham location.
After getting my hair done, I headed to the Rugby Grille for dinner. To be honest, dinner was rather lackluster. I should have known better after having a few less than stellar meals there years ago, but I wanted to give it another chance. The high point of the meal was the frose, which is by far the best I have had. It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet or harsh. Summer weather, clothes, and drinks, and fall hair – it works for me.

I noticed in the first picture that your hair color was different in the very best way! Love the new color on you. I have also been blonde most of my life but one time my hairstylist gave me a shorter shoulder length hair and made is just a bit more red than your color now…. I really liked it but shortly went back to blonde. Your beautiful new color makes me want to try a new color for fall! And I am still wearing flip flops and summer dresses. Although tomorrow it will only be 69 degrees. But unlike you, I love fall.
