When I lived in Michigan, winter was by far, no contest, my very least favorite time of the year. The snow on the ground and on the roads, sometimes making driving treacherous. The frigid temperatures outside. The gloomy days. The insanely early sunsets in the event the sun actually did come out. I can’t do winter.
In Michigan that is.
Now that I am officially a Floridian, I have learned not just to respect winter but to love it. The cooler temperatures. The bright, sunny days. The early sunsets that allow for dinner at a reasonable hour to enjoy a view like in these photos. Yes, I can do a Florida winter.
You might think it doesn’t feel like the holiday season, but I totally disagree since all the resorts are so beautifully decorated and I lean into the season by wearing festive dresses, most of which involve sequins.
Now I won’t ever turn down a good sequin, but there is something about wearing them during the holidays that puts a pep in my step. It feels like a celebration just by getting dressed up in a sequined dress in a Christmas-y color, such as the one in these photos.
This dress is ready for any and every holiday activity. It reflects the golden hour light beautifully, which is why I paired it with a gold bag. Green and gold are color best friends. Because I wanted more sparkle, I took a chance on ombre green and blue crystal pumps. They might be an unusual choice, but they work in this instance.
Add a red lip and some smokey eye makeup and the holidays are present whether there’s snow on the ground or a breathtaking sunset filling the sky.
Wishing you a sparkly holiday season!
