Since I lived in Michigan most of my life, I know Valentine’s Day is typically a cold day in a lot of the country. It can be gloomy, snowy, and all around rather gross. Now that I am in Florida, I also know Valentine’s Day can be rather warm, this year in particular is looking toasty.
I want to share a cold weather look and a warm weather look today, both of which are perfect for Valentine’s Day. I wore them both recently, since Florida’s weather has been all over the place. While we have run our heat each year we have lived in Florida, this year is by far the most it has run. We had several weeks of rather cold, gloomy weather that was not at all like the Sunshine State. Now, we’re heading into a stretch of unseasonably warm weather. I guess it’s not so bad if it means I get to wear all the clothes in my closet.
Let’s talk the cold weather look. It features one of my favorite unexpected color combinations – pink and red. I just love these two colors together. The pop of the red blouse makes such a statement, made romantic with the sequined flared skirt. And of course there’s the wrap. It’s very warm, and basically impossible to miss. Since it doesn’t make it into the rotation frequently these days, I cherish every time I get to wear it.
Then there is the warm weather look, a flowy floral print dress that’s mostly pink, but does have a hint of red. I also love the crystal belt for a little sparkle. Spur of the moment, I picked up a fascinator that actually paired well with the dress, and both outfits accidentally have the same shoes. They are kind of an elevated classic with the silhouette and wearability but lots and lots of shimmer.
Will it be warm or cold for Valentine’s Day in your area?
