Butterflies, dragonflies, and lady bugs are kind of my thing. You know, the winged, flying insects that are friendly and pretty and don’t bite. I love seeing butterflies floating through the air and hanging out at out flowers. Seeing dragonflies hovering mid air, just saying hi. Let me tell you, Florida dragonflies totally have their own vibe – they are HUGE! And it’s just the best when a ladybug visits on the window and every once in awhile even lands on me.
I also love wearing cute flying insect inspired pieces. I received a little butterfly ring for my thirtieth birthday that I still love and wear every time I leave the house. And last Christmas I received a monarch butterfly hairpin by Jennifer Behr.
I don’t have a ton of hair accessories, which would disappoint young Laura greatly. When I was a kid I had claw clips, butterfly clips, Velcro hair crystals, scrunchies, and more. Now I just have a handful of pins and this clip, along with a couple saved from my youth that I should totally break out.
This butterfly clip is just the thing to spruce up a basic outfit or bring on all the animal vibes at Animal Kingdom Lodge. That was such a cool place to check out and paired with feather pieces, I definitely fit right in 😉
I hope to add more nature inspired accessories to my wardrobe as fun nods to the wonderful world that surrounds us.

Nice butterfly clip! When we lived in Florida we planted loads of host plants for butterflies, so often had dozens of them flitting about in the yard.
I do see butterflies and dragonflies pretty regularly but never dozens. I need to plant more flowers!!
