I didn’t have much yellow in my closet until this sale season. It’s not because I don’t love yellow. It’s actually one of my favorite colors. Yellow is such a happy color. Give me all the yellow roses, giant sunflowers, a bowl of lemons, and pretty yellow butterflies floating around the backyard.

I have always wanted a yellow dress or two, but I feel like the more I looked, the less I saw any that were in my size and fit my style. That all changed recently when I added my first Rebecca Vallance dress in a golden yellow. The strapless maxi dress flows just right, has pockets, and is finished off with a giant bow in the back. I can’t wait to try more dresses from this brand and to wear this dress again. It makes such a statement and is easily paired with gold. I also popped it with red to bring out the fiery vibes of this color.

Then there’s the new addition from one of my current favorite brands, Helsi. Their dresses fit me well and are elegant with plenty of personality. I love the sequins and applique that they often feature. This yellow dress has stunning metallic appliques that are even more striking in person than in the photographs.

The layers of fabric with a sheer bottom and sleeves make this dress shine. It flows so well and is begging to be paired with all the yellow. I will definitely try my yellow pumps next time, but for this outing, I went with my rainbow pumps for something different.

Speaking of different, though these two yellow dresses are both in the same color family and about the same length, that is where the similarities end. It’s so fun to have dresses that each have their own vibe despite the fact they fall into the same category.
Bring on all the bright happy colors!
