Denim goes with everything. You can pair it with any color, dress it up, dress it down, and wear it almost any time to any place, depending on the piece.
However, denim is typically blue. Sure, it works with every single color you can think of, but classic denim is always in the blue family. For this outfit, I let myself be inspired by the color blue and lean into the hue of the denim. I am dressed in blue from head to toe, if you look closely, you’ll notice I even have blue eye shadow on for the daytime outing in the bright sunshine.
The other pops of blue in this outfit are my favorite blue pumps (seriously, they are about 16 years old and I just love them so much), a bucket bag with hints of blue (sometimes I forget how nice it is to have a purse that I like to carry on my shoulder), and because it was a chilly day, a blue and white fur scarf.
It is always my favorite to go out on a slightly chilly day and be able to wear some of my favorite cold weather pieces, even though I now live in the sunshine state. You would be shocked how chilly it can get in Florida in the winter, but it’s quite welcome when it comes with sunshine and a refreshing breeze instead of a foot of snow and below zero wind chill.
Leaning into blue and popping this dress with different accessories made a completely new look out of a dress that is quite memorable and stands on its own. I do love it though, so as usual, I am plotting fresh ways to wear it in the future.
