This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and PEOPLE® and PEOPLE StyleWatch® but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #Summer4Me http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I have loved reading magazines since I was a little girl. I don’t know why, but I have always been drawn to them. Whether I get them in the mail (and I get a ton … too many according to Mom!) or pick them up at Target when I’m filling my cart, I just love flipping through a magazine.
Maybe it’s the way the glossy paper feels in my hands. Or all the pretty pictures. Perhaps it’s the fun and interesting articles. By the time I’m ready for a few minutes or more of relaxation, I’d much rather curl up with a magazine than a book.
Magazines are such a great escape from the world. I get fashion and food ideas from them. I catch up on my favorite celebrities lives (and sometimes imagine I’m a part of that world). And I learn about the latest movies, TV shows, music, and books. I try to read one magazine a day, but lately I’m lucky if I get one done a week.
When I realized that, I knew it was time to slow down. Time for a “Me Day!” Okay, so I still worked on my blog and read a little of my screenplay, but it was mostly a me day. Right now I just can’t tear myself away from my dreams and working as much as I try.
Then the rest of the day was mine, though. I so enjoyed reading PEOPLE® and PEOPLE® StyleWatch. I’m so into fashion and picking up some new ideas and tips was fantastic. I sometimes get stuck in a fashion rut, but the photos really inspired me to try some new looks. After all, they’re just clothes and can easily be changed. Why not have some fun???
I even reorganized my closet so I could better see what I have in there. I even found some things I had forgotten about. Oops!
I took a long walk outside, listening to the birds sing and smelling the flowers. I watched E.T. which I have never seen. It was so good and I can’t believe how current it felt even though it was made so long ago. My phone stayed on silent and out of my hands.
And I didn’t bake or cook anything. Leftovers for dinner! I’m a fan of leftovers sometimes – it’s so easy to not have to worry about cooking.
Not only did I love my me day, but it reinvigorated me, giving me the strength to keep pushing toward my dreams. It reset my overloaded brain and helped me forget about and then figure out some problems that have been on my mind.
Even better, right now you can save 20% off participating titles and special edition magazines including PEOPLE®, InStyle®, PEOPLE® StyleWatch, Us Weekly® through the awesome Target Cartwheel Digital Offer through 7/10/15 while supplies last.
While I don’t know if I’ll have time for another me day soon, I know I will make more me time to keep up on all my favorite magazines. You should definitely make some time too. You’ll be surprised at how much it will help you.

Even with everyone being online these days, there’s still something about flipping through a magazine that I love.

We all need “me” days from time to time. Sounds like yours was particularly fun and productive! Glad you enjoyed it.

Always fun to find something you forgot you had to wear! I love that especially with all the traveling I have been doing lately. It’s nice to not always pack the same things especially staying at the same hotel (JW Marriott in Santo Domingo) every time.
I’m more of a book person than magazine. I find I never got to reading them so I quit all my subscriptions….but give me a book and I’ll have it read in a day or two!!!

I can never finish a book in a couple days, but I just love magazines … I have since I was like 5.
