As you can see, these pictures were taken in a warmer … sunnier … happier time.
Travel back with me if you will to October and a trip to the Fisher Mansion. The Junior League of Detroit presents a show house every other year. They line up a bunch of designers to decorate each room with their individual flair.
I loved going last time and this year’s house was fun too. It was in a different setting but fun to see nonetheless. I loved picking up little decorating tips and exploring the many rooms of the house. it is so fascinating how house styles have changed over the years.
Currently actor Hill Harper owns this mansion. It’s cool he allowed it to be exhibited. The bright colors, gold accents, and light fixtures really stood out, and we all loved the marble shower.
After the house, we headed to The Skip for a quick cocktail. I just love it there and if you are in the Detroit area, I highly encourage you to check it out along with other spots in the belt alley. It’s the coolest, artsiest alley around.
My patterned two piece outfit popped nicely among the other patterns I encountered throughout the day. And yes, that is a mini cocktail umbrella tucked behind my ear because why not???

Love the pictures and your outfit. That first picture is very stunning….your dress pattern against the kaleidoscope background. Cool ideas in the rooms. Agree about the marble shower. We had a granite shower and it was really cool but the marble is fabulous.

Thank you, Debbie! There are many murals in that alley, but that swirl one might be my new favorite.
