If you are a golf fan, I bet you have heard of Oakland Hills Country Club here in Southeastern Michigan. It is one of the premier golf courses and country clubs in all of America.
And I have wanted to go there for as long as I can remember. Finally on the last day of November, Mom and I attended a very nice charity event there. We did some Christmas shopping, met some very nice people, and had a nice lunch (there was lemon meringue ice cream pie for dessert and it may have been the best thing I have ever eaten).
The club, decorated for Christmas, did not disappoint. All the trees and wreaths were just stunning. Plus, it was a sixty degree day with the sun shining so we walked out by the golf course which was beautiful. We wished lunch was held out there it was such a nice day.
I picked up this dress at Saks on sale recently (and it’s still available online if you are interested). I love that it has such a unique agate pattern and it garnered complements all day because it’s different. I know women love wearing black but it can be so blah. This is anything but.
Because I was headed to a fancy event, I wore my fanciest crystal Louboutins that don’t get out enough. they sparkled just as much as the club.
This outfit is also perfect for New Year’s Eve. It is shiny and sparkly and festive but a bit warmer than most of the sleeveless and strapless dresses that fill my closet.
What do you wear when you are attending a special event?
Dress: Yigal Azrouel // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Bag: Prada // Bag Charm: Anya Hindmarch
Just wanted to stop by and wish you and your family a very happy New Year.
Thanks, Karen! Happy New Year to you as well!!
Aren’t you just so special. Try wearing nylons fir a finished look and ditch the red lipstick.
Women from Marilyn Monroe to Taylor Swift to my late Granny have all worn red lipstick well, so I am an in good company. I still love that outfit and that day, and you’re not going to change my mind. I focus on spreading positive vibes – you should try it 🙂
