You guys, I am finally on top of a trend. It doesn’t happen often … in fact I’m not sure it ever has, but here we are. There is a trend that I am into and have been a part of long before it was a trend. My only regret right now is that I didn’t officially begin this trend and get to take credit for it.
It’s the new mob wife aesthetic trend. I would have liked to think of my look as slightly more old Hollywood glamour than mob wife, but given I just started watching The Sopranos, I’m pretty okay with it.
Basically instead of the whole quiet luxury trend where one might where low key items and muted colors that look well put together but would probably go unnoticed, this trend is all about over the top colors, prints, jewelry, heels, fur, sequins, big hair, and more. More, more, more.
If you have been reading this blog for long or know me at all, you probably know quiet isn’t really my vibe, luxurious or otherwise.
But I do love colors and prints and putting on another piece of jewelry before leaving the house instead of taking one off (sorry Coco Chanel!), all the glitter, sequins, and crystals, and enough hairspray that I get nervous around open flames. And I have loved all these things basically since I was a tween. Little did I know there has been a mob wife living inside me all this time.
This look is very mob wife, Florida mob wife, because surely a high-powered mob wife would want to leave the cold weather now and then. Florida gave us our little bit of winter (complete with having to turn the heat on for the third year in a row!), and I was all too happy to break out my big pink fur cape/blanket.
It makes this outfit. It’s the showstopper. The eye catcher. It would make any outfit honestly. I paired it with a simple white top, my favorite pink skirt, too many rings (Mom will happily tell you), glittery heels, and even a glittery bag.
I can’t wait to wear this cape and other mob wife inspired looks.
Is this a trend you want to try?

It definitely looks great on you but I couldn’t pull it off!! I am one who can testify this is a look you often wear and wear it well! Keep up the terrific looks.

Haha, I think you could pull it off. There’s a mob wife in all of us 🙂
