New Year’s Eve isn’t my favorite holiday. It’s typically cold out, everywhere is packed, and for the most part people aren’t on their best behavior. However, it can be fun to get out early that night, have some friends over at home, or go out on the nights leading up to celebrate. Who says the celebration has to last only one night???
Dressing can be a challenge since the weather is cold, particularly this year. I am presenting two ideas today that can help you be super festive and not freeze.
I love my fancy blue dress (it makes me feel like Cinderella), but it can be a challenge to wear since it’s pretty much a ball gown. A simple denim jacket makes it feel super fresh and keeps me warm inside a chilly venue. A denim jacket is one of my favorite all time closet staples because it’s so super versatile.
If it’s even colder, I love a large poncho. It’s sophisticated and easy to wear throughout festivities. Instead of detracting from an outfit like a bulky coat, it can totally add to the look.
I also love that both of these dresses are longer. Something so simple like that can really add a bit of warmth as opposed to a mini dress.
A small purse is another great NYE tip. No one wants to hang on to a huge bag all night, so a tiny one can hold the essentials and not get in the way.
By the way, these photos were taken at Prime and Proper, an awesome new steakhouse in Detroit that has some serious style.
I hope this helps you have a fun, festive, fashionable NYE. Be safe!
