Yes, I bought a dress that is Wizard of Oz inspired. Seriously, it’s called the Good Witch dress and is a modern day take on Dorothy’s iconic outfit.
I can’t say I’m a huge Wizard of Oz fan. I have seen it … at least I’m almost sure I’ve seen it. I do love Wicked, so there’s that.
I have become a fan of the brand The Vampire’s Wife. This happened accidentally when I kept image searching dresses I saw on TV that I loved and found that was the designer for four or five of them in a row. When I spotted this fun dress on sale, I thought it was worth a try as it’s totally different from anything I have in my closet.
I love it for that reason and so many more. It’s strapless but has that unique front panel. It’s long with a little white lace peeking out the bottom. Oh, and that bow in the back is perfection, mostly because Mom tied it 😉 The color is also pretty great.
I’ve worn it to tea a couple times recently, because is there a better place to wear a dress like this? I think not. And to lean into the theme, I obviously paired it with red pumps aka ruby slippers. I wore a navy bag once and a red bag the other time, along with red lipstick and my moon earrings both times.
The whole look really did give me a chance to pause and reflect on how I love that Florida is my home, and how lucky I am to be able to live in Orlando. It was all such a long time coming, and now that I am coming up on my four year anniversary in the sunshine state, it is not at all lost of me that there really is no place like home.
Dress: The Vampire’s Wife // Shoes: Manolo Blahnik // Red bag: Prada // Blue bag: Chloe // Earrings: Aquazzura
I love it! Now that you say it, the dress totally reminds me of Dorothy!! You wear it so well and love the red shoes…
