The muted tones of these two outfits had me thinking of the woods. And the blue sky and sunshine of not only the past weekend, but the entire week have me thinking spring might be around the corner and we might be out of the woods in terms of winter.
Life is always full of twists and turns, though. Even when there is a clearing in the woods, it seems there’s always another around the corner. Another crisis or problem or bump in the road, some bigger than others.
Let’s face it, y’all, life is hard a lot of the time for one reason or another. I think that’s why I like blogging to talk about happy things, writing to escape to another world, fashion to pretend like everything is okay, because sometimes that really does make things okay in real life, if only for a brief time.
Even if we never really will be out of the woods, sometimes we get a respite and other times we have to fake it until we make it.
Sometimes that includes sequined sweaters and embellished skirts, heels and too much lipstick. And you know what, both of these days were more than okay. They were fun, simple, happy little memories I’ll hold close forever.
In the clear yet? Good.
