I have been wearing a lot of blue lately, in different shades and silhouettes, a newer skirt, a reallllllllly old dress, and a few in between. Blue doesn’t exactly scream summer, but these outfits all do. That just goes to show blue, like any color, can be good for just about any occasion.
The dark navy blue dress actually has a slight shimmer to it that is lovely without being over the top. Because of that shimmer, I paired it with shimmery accessories that bring out that metallic vibe. This dress is great from day to night and an be made more work appropriate with a blazer.
The bright blue dress is one of the older pieces in my closet. I had it refreshed at the dry cleaner recently and decided to pop it on to see what I thought, if I felt like wearing it. I did, probably in part because it practically felt new to me since I haven’t worn it seen we have lived in Florida. I hear the premise that something that hasn’t been worn in years shouldn’t have been taking up space in my closet, but I did pull it back out, so I’m glad I saved it all this time.
Then there’s the top and skirt, a rather over the top blue outfit with the ruffly top and that big tulle skirt, not to mention big silver and glitter platform heels. But I love an over the top outfit, particularly one that I am comfortable wearing but still makes a big impact.
Whatever the occasion, I’ll always be adding more blue to my wardrobe and wearing it on repeat. I hope I’ve inspired you to do so as well.
