Allow me to be the one millionth person to ask, did you see the eclipse? I hope you did. While Florida was not in the path of totality, the roughly sixty percent partial eclipse was glorious. It’s hard to explain how magical and powerful it is to see. I headed to the Four Seasons where I was able to share glasses with some my friends who work there as well as total strangers who asked if it was cool. I had extra glasses with me specifically so I could share … an eclipse is an experience best enjoyed with other people.
It amazed me every time I put my special eclipse glasses on how the sun kind of looked like a crescent moon and how right when the eclipse began the change was noticeable. It’s the third eclipse I have seen. That kinds of blows my mind honestly, how lucky we are to be a part of this human experience.
Because I love a theme, I went all out with all the moon things for my outfit. Moon and star earrings, moon and star bracelet, moon and star skirt. I also wore nail polish with moon themed names – Moonfairy from Mooncat (one of my favorite brands lately with all their fun colors) and To the Moon and Back from Deborah Lippmann (a long time favorite). It was moons all around because why not?
Though it might seem kitschy, I love to wear an outfit that matches the occasion. Whether it was wearing red to see Moulin Rouge, stars on Michelin star night a couple years ago, or moons to celebrate the eclipse. Fashion is an expression of my personality, of what’s important to me, and the moon and stars are definitely big players in my little world. I never miss an opportunity to stop and look up, see what cool things lurk in the sky. Most of the time, it’s pretty cool.

Great idea with your earrings and outfit for the eclipse! And you’re right that it is so cool that we can be a part of it.
