If you would have asked me a couple years ago if I would have worn a bunch of plaid that didn’t really go together and like it, I probably would have laughed at you.
But I wore it.
And I liked it.
I still like it. I think this outfit works because though the plaids are wildly different, they share some colors in the same family, namely blue. The blues play well with each other and the denim skirt that works not only as a neutral but also to accentuate the blue in the plaid blouse and jacket.
Grey in the boots and the wrap keeps me from looking like I just got out of private school for the day or like I’m heading straight for the worst dressed list.
Not only do I like this outfit, but I also like the places where these photos were taken. It was a day I just wanted to get out and didn’t really have anything to do, but I turned it into a super fun day full of cool local spots.
It began at New Order Coffee. If you haven’t had their microbrewed coffee, do so if you have a chance. The bright colors and happy vibes of the store are pretty awesome too.
I made my first visit to Cannelle by Matt Knio, a French bakery that is swoon worthy. I wanted one of everything but stuck with a couple items. I envision going there quite a few more times.
Then I stopped at Marrow, a restaurant/butcher shop. It’s so cool that they are a dual concept spot and everyone there was so friendly.
Plaid and new places, no complaints there.
