So Halloween really isn’t my thing. My last costumes were Caroline Rhea in third grade because I was obsessed with Sabrina the Teenage Witch (and probably Hollywood Squares, which maybe possibly explains why I didn’t want to be Sabrina herself) and Britney Spears in fourth grade because it’s Britney, bitch.
That means it’s been roughly two decades since I’ve gotten into the spooky spirit.
Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t exactly a costume, but an idea to get into the day without going all out. It’s also about how accessories, makeup, hair, and even attitude can affect an outfit.
I wore the same dress two different nights recently. My “villain” look was for dinner at Knife and Spoon with straight hair, dark, moody makeup, and spiky stilettos. I felt fierce wearing this look and played into the vibes I was feeling.
My “princess” look was for an evening at Illume, the new rooftop bar on top of the new JW Marriott Bonnet Creek. I went all out Elsa vibes with curled hair, softer makeup, and feminine pumps. Since it was a chilly (yep, you read that right, chilly) evening, I grabbed my fur stole because every princess has a little Cruella in her 😉
Maybe Halloween isn’t so bad after all.

Very cool both ways. Love that color blue. And the fur stole is simply the bomb!
