Hair that is. I received these hairpins for Christmas and I absolutely love them. They really take bobby pins to the next level and add some low key sparkle to any outfit from super casual denim to black tie. They are well made and super sturdy, so much so that I almost need help from Mom to open them and get them in properly.
I love how they pair with the gold in this dress and these shoes. The theme of gold and glitter really works and is one of my favorites. It’s such a classic, yet doesn’t feel dated.
I also put a pin in my twenties yesterday as I celebrated my birthday. I’ve been feeling pretty nostalgic and thinking some seriously deep thoughts. But really, I feel better than ever. I feel more myself than ever. Even better, I’m finally finding people who accept me for me.
Sure, sometimes it drives me crazy I don’t have more followers on Instagram or my anxiety sometimes still stops me from doing or enjoying things, but I’m living and growing and speaking what’s on my mind and in my heart.
I have found more of my own style instead of copying other people. You might not like it; hell, every once in awhile I’m not even sure about an outfit or lipstick color. But it’s just clothes and makeup and nail polish. What I do blogging and writing and social media-ing, it’s not rocket science or trigonometry. It’s fun and brings me joy, and I hope I bring you joy now and again too.
Pins can be cool. Pins can be sparkly. And pins can be progress.
