One of the most surprising things about living in Florida is how fiercely strong the sun is. Yes, I know Florida is called the Sunshine State, and one of the reasons I wanted to move here was the generally wonderful weather. It’s awesome to see the sun at some point literally almost every single day.
But particularly in the summer, the sun is fierce. It is bright and strong and crazy hot, more so than even the peak of summer in Michigan. I guess it makes sense since Florida is closer to the equator but it wasn’t something I was expecting.
I think living here makes me want to wear bright colors more frequently, but I have always liked wearing colors and this dress and two piece outfit are items from my closet that I loved when I lived in Michigan, and I still love now.
When I wear yellow, it makes me think of the sun, it makes me feel a little brighter and happier myself. I don’t have a lot of yellow, but when I am at a loss for what to wear, these are two outfits I lean on all the time.
The yellow dress is an easy go-to sundress for any occasion. Pair it with neutral accessories, including big platform sandals, and it’s ready to go.
The two piece outfit has a fun lemon print (you know what they say about life giving you lemons), and because it isn’t all yellow, I love pairing it with bright shoes, although black ones would definitely do the trick as well.
Whether the sun is shining bright as ever or heavy clouds fill the sky, I hope this makes you want to wear yellow and be a bit of sunshine yourself.
