I had never seen fireworks in person until I was in my twenties. It wasn’t something we did when I was little. Sure, Detroit has a famous fireworks showcase that practically rivals Macy’s in New York, but it’s a huge hassle to go. It wasn’t until I saw them at Comerica Park as the Tigers shoot them off every Friday night home game that I understood the power of fireworks in person.
Those Tigers fireworks are pretty awesome. And in Orlando there are quite a few awesome fireworks pretty much every single night. But there is nothing like those at Ritz Carlton Orlando, and there is nothing like them on the Fourth of July.
I really celebrated the holiday weekend with fun outings of fireworks and Beetlejuice the musical and shopping. And of course, I wore all the red, white, and blue I could.

Why not? Why not use the holiday to let America inspire my wardrobe choices? Plus, those bright, patriotic colors just feel like summer.
The sparkly blue dress is kind of its own firework. Paired with iridescent shoes and fish earrings, yes you read that right, fish earrings, it totally got me in the mood and kicked the holiday off right.
The big blue skirt is made for special occasions. I kept things simple with a navy top and little white bag, but brought more fireworks with those pumps. Ladybug earrings brought the red to my outfit since it was the actual holiday. Hopefully, they’ll bring me some luck too!
The red dress is such a classic sundress that is begging to be worn all summer long with streaks of red and a big bow. Black accessories let it shine, but blue ones would most definitely be fun. Oh and those ladybug earrings made another appearance.
Here’s to fun fashion! To summer! And of course to America!
