Mom’s car lease wasn’t up until this spring, but in January the opportunity to trade the old car in for a shiny new one presented itself and we couldn’t pass it up.
The process went so smoothly since the salesman brought the car to the house for a test drive (and to make sure it fit in the garage, which was a surprisingly close call), had the paperwork in hand and within a little more than an hour Mom had a new Lincoln Continental.
It’s a gorgeous car and even though black wasn’t our top choice color, it’s nice. The interior is sleek and comfortable.
I grew up riding around in Continentals since Mom repeatedly leased them and back then I wasn’t a fan. They seemed old fashioned and I wanted something hipper. Also I was a tween and it was my one act of rebellion to not like our car.
I don’t feel that way in the slightest about this shiny new model. It is everything a luxury sedan should be with a bit of a sporty vibe that makes it hip and cool. We’re still getting used to some of the practically space age features like soft touch doors and a lack of gear shift (don’t worry, this girl is not getting behind the wheel 🙂 )
Because we were just out and about for a test drive and to fit the mood of the car, I wore a super casual outfit of Taylor Swift Reputation merchandise that I bought to get better tickets to the Reputation tour (which didn’t really end up working). I ended up loving this hoodie and pants so much. They are super cozy and look nice while still covering up areas that some athletic wear doesn’t leave to the imagination.
Because I’m still me, I put on some of my highest heels, grabbed my bag, and slicked on red lipstick (Taylor would be proud).
What do you wear when you have to be out the door in a hurry?
Hoodie and pants: Taylor Swift // Sunglasses: Tiffany // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Bag: Prada // Bag Charm: Anya Hindmarch

What kind of car would you want? Do you drive your moms car?
Laura says
Hi Sarah! I don’t drive, but as both of my parents worked for Ford, cars kind of run in my blood. I love the new car but if I could have any car in the world, I would want a blue Thunderbird or a Maybach.

Hey Laura, I’m curious, have you ever tried to learn to drive? I myself grew up in NYC and didn’t learn until I was 20, and I was an extremely anxious driver (you can feel free to email me if you want some tips that helped me, now I can safely drive even in awful NY traffic). Either way, the new car looks really nice.
Also, I’m really disappointed in Taylor Swift’s Reputation tickets, they are way overpriced compared to her 1989 and Red tours :/

Hi smf! Thanks for the comment. I tried to drive a couple times and felt like I couldn’t control such a big piece of machinery. While I am not sure I want to drive, I will send you an email in case. I am trying to make some big changes this year. I also agree on the Taylor Swift tickets. I made it pretty much to the top of Ticketmaster with complaints and voiced my opinion on social media. Not only are prices incredibly high (they are the most expensive tickets I have ever bought) but they were holding tickets back during the presale and have fluctuating prices. It’s really disgusting.

For me, it is either jeans and a hoodie or exercise clothes so that when I return, I am ready to take my girls a walk at the park! Love the new Continental. It is so very cool looking and so 21st century!
