So I shared my hair care picks earlier in the week and now I’m going to talk skin care and makeup. All these products are available at Sephora as part of their sale, so don’t miss out. This is the perfect time to stock up or try something new. I will most definitely be doing that myself!
Skin care first because I try to start with a healthy base before I add makeup. I have incredibly finicky skin so these are all products I feel are good for sensitive skin. I use and love them myself. There are a few I cannot live without.
The Tatcha Indigo Cream saves my hands. I have the world’s driest skin on my hands and I love this cream. I often combine it with Lord Jones Royal Oil for extra calming and soothing for the red and irritated skin. The Saint Jane lip gloss is wonderful too – a moment of peace in a crazy world. Plus, it’s pretty. I’m a big fan of CBD, as I have seen and felt how it works in a wonderfully natural way that has been proven over centuries.
As someone who exercises a lot, when I have some aches and pains, I turn to the Lord Jones Body Oil. Dad has even used it to help his pains from walking a lot at work. We can both attest to how it can make an amazing difference.
For my face, I have been using Caudalie and Goop products regularly for about six months now. My skin still isn’t perfect, but I do see improvement. Typically I cleanse with Goop or Caudalie, tone with Goop in the morning and Caudalie at night, spot treat with Caudalie Vinopure in the morning and full face at night, and finish with Tatcha Water Cream. It’s a lot, and it might be too much for you, but my skin needs a lot to control, protect, and soothe it. Since I was a kid I have had very problematic skin and this routine works for me for now.
Now, let’s talk about some fun stuff. I am a lipstick and lip gloss freak. I made a resolution a couple years ago to wear it every day. I find it helps boost my mood and put a little pep in my step. This means even though I might go days without putting on all my makeup, I’m always looking forward to matching my lipstick to my hoodie 🙂
Pat McGrath BlitzTrance is so fun and glittery. It’s Mom’s favorite. My favorite changes all the time, but I know I cannot go wrong with Jouer long wear lip crème or Rouge Dior (999 matte is the ULTIMATE red! Really it’s the ULTIMATE lipstick!). If you’re looking for a splurge, go for Christian Louboutin Loubilaque. It’s Louboutin so it’s expensive, but it is wonderfully luxurious.
A few other staples I always turn to are Diorshow Mascara, Bobbi Brown highlighting powder, NARS pencil sharpener (a good, easy to use pencil sharpener is not to be underestimated), and Deborah Lippmann hard rock base and top coat. That is the only base and top coat combo I have ever tried that doesn’t peel like crazy the minute it dries. I use it with Lippmann nail polish, but also with all the other brands in my stash and it works with everything.
There is so much more, and even though this sale will be over, I am going to keep sharing. I love hair, skin, and makeup products, and sharing them with you all is a blast!
