As we skip over most of spring and head right into summer here in the sunshine state, I bring you two sunshine inspired looks today. All those colors we associate with the sun, even though other than sunrise and sunset, the sun is mostly just a giant ball of light in the sky.
Still, these looks are focused around shades of yellow, orange, and gold with a hint of red and some starry shoes, because the sun is a star after all.
The one shoulder dress is a classic in my closet. I love it now as much as I did when I bought it probably about ten years ago. That’s pretty hard to believe, isn’t it??? I paired it with a rust orange bag with a yellow monster charm (my favorite purse charm – don’t tell the others 😉 ) and yellow pumps. Even though they aren’t all colors you might think to pair together, they work because they are in the same sunshine-y color family.
The red-orange dress is one I don’t wear a ton because honestly it’s really short and not made for some activities. But I still like it, as I do like having mini dresses, maxi dresses, and everything in between in my closet. It’s a very summery dress and paired well with the gold bag and giant Saturn earrings, another nod to the magnificence in the sky above us. The starry shoes I mentioned are also in this look. It was my first time wearing them, and I bet you’ll be seeing a lot more of them around these parts.
Are you looking forward to summer and lots of sunshine? Will you be wearing shades of yellow and orange this summer?
