Admittedly I am not that much of a soccer or World Cup fan. It’s cool and interesting and the stadiums are gorgeous, but it’s just not my thing. That said, I like new experiences, so when I heard about Strikers Lounge at the Four Seasons, one of my favorite hang outs, I wanted to check it out.
Strikers is located in Plancha, which is actually a part of the golf course at the resort and is about a ten minute walk or five minute gold cart ride away from the actual hotel. I am a fan of Plancha, particularly when it comes to their Sunday brunch, so even if you miss this, be sure to check it out if you haven’t.

Strikers is a limited time offering for the World Cup. I went to check it out yesterday for the Spain and Austria match and fell in love. Admittedly, we were the only people there. They had been very crowded the night before for the US match, but other than that, it tends to be rather empty. I had a great time, and I would encourage you to check it out if you have the chance.
The room is elegant but inviting with two massive TVs and a couple smaller ones. There are small round tables as well as big couches and chairs for more of a living room feel. We sat in the living room area and really liked it. While it does make eating a little more difficult, it was comfortable and easy to see the TV.

I didn’t try any of the drinks on the menu, though they sound good. The Cuban old fashioned at Plancha is one of my favorite drinks, so I stuck with that.
However, we tried a ton of the food on the special menu. The Kickoff is a set of dips: guacamole, baba ganoush, red pepper dip, and whipped ricotta. They come with plantain chips, blue corn chips, and naan bread. This was a big hit and is a really fun snack for game time.

Another favorite was the nachos with more guacamole, wagyu ground beef, pico de gallo, and cheese. Because I prefer to be gluten free, the waiter suggested we put the nachos on the blue corn chips instead of the flour tortillas. While I cannot compare, the blue corn chips worked really well. I hope they put this dish on the permanent Plancha menu.

The pretzel bites from the crab dip were a big hit while the dip itself was a little too strongly flavored. A queso dip might have been a better pairing. The homemade merguez sausage with fries was good but not as good as some of the other dishes.
If I went back, I would be curious to check out the sliders and the charcuterie. Overall, even in an empty room, I found the experience to be incredibly fulfilling, and I would return for sure. I also hope Plancha and the Four Seasons continue to expand their unique offerings.
