I took you on a tour of the Ritz Carlton Resorts of Naples earlier this week, but you barely caught a glimpse of the fashion I wore on my trips.
Naples is an elegant beach town with three downtown districts, a stunning outdoor mall, and hidden gem restaurants at every turn … and in every strip mall. Waterside Shops, the mall is a must stop. The Saks alone is a dream for any shopper. Though I haven’t bought anything yet, i enjoyed seeing so many amazing things in one place. Dressy casual to straight up dressy and bright colors with floral patterns are the name of game.
I prefer to travel in and with dresses. They are easy to bring, wear, and change in and out of. However, sometimes a cute skirt and top makes its way into the mix because I love the skirts and tops hanging in my closet.
I always have a backup dress that I don’t really plan on wearing but love enough to wear in the event of a broken zipper or tear. And I always wear one pair of shoes and bring another for the same reason. Funny story: we were recently at dinner at Capa and Dad’s shoe totally fell apart. They were literally sweeping up after him. Luckily we were in the Orlando area and not far from home, but let Dad be a cautionary tale. Bring an extra pair of shoes on a trip.
For our second trip, I did bring a large and small purse, but the first trip, I just brought one purse. I guess I wasn’t as worried about my purse letting me down.
Since Naples is a drive away, I’m lucky enough to bring a hanging bag to keep my clothes pristine and wrinkle free. If you’re flying I don’t have much advice to avoid wrinkles since I prefer not to hit the skies, however, most hotels will press or steam clothes for a small fee.
While the weather on our trips was wildly different, I brought wraps both times because the sea breeze definitely kicks up even when it’s hot out. I also wore lightweight long sleeve dresses both times, along with one pair of sandals and one pair of pumps. A special night out dress rounded out what I brought and wore.
Polka dots, floral prints, and sequins were my focus to look glam, polished, and be comfortable. I only brought and wore dresses I knew I could move freely in and wear for hours without becoming uncomfortable. While maxi dresses were definitely tempting with their beachy vibes, I chose to leave them at home because I didn’t want them to get sandy.
I hope this gives you ideas on what to wear if you visit Naples, or really any other place in Florida. While all the cities in Florida have their own personality, sunshine, good vibes, and bright colors are always around.
