I know in many parts of the country, including one I used to call home, it is still rather cold and gloomy and nothing like spring outside. Here in Florida there have definitely been temperature ups and downs, leaving me needing a giant sweater or cape one day and trying to catch a breeze the next.
Luckily since it is still technically spring, even the hot days that are part of this weather whiplash have lower humidity and a breeze that makes spending time in the shade an absolute joy.
And because it’s Florida, even chilly days mean bright blue skies, most of the time, and tons of flowers. It’s actually a great time to spend a day outside when it’s just a little too chilly because everything is so beautiful and you can enjoy it without breaking a sweat.
I wore this dress twice recently. I haven’t pulled it out of my closet in a looooong time, but it holds a special place in my heart since it’s one of the very first nice dresses I bought almost twenty years ago. It still fits and is in pretty good shape. It is so perfect for spring and certainly as we approach Easter with the bright pink flowers and it brings back so many awesome memories.
On the chilly day I topped it with my new cape that I’ve wanted for almost twenty years and finally snagged on sale. On the warm day, I let the dress shine all on its own. Either way, the dress is clearly the star of the show.
Well, I’m not sure anything can outshine that wisteria. And I’m kinda okay with that.
What’s the weather like in your area? What are you wearing to celebrate spring?

I have a very similar patterned summer dress! Here it is waaaaaay to cold to wear it even with a beautiful cape like yours. We actually had snow/sleet showers today and I had to go out in it! We are however forecasted for 70 plus degrees almost every day next week. Maybe I will pull out the dress if just to look at it and hope I can wear it soon!

It’s been in the 70s, then below freezing, then 50s, 30s, and now we’ll be getting 70s again. Typical spring weather here. 🙂

Spring always has a slow start, and then unfortunately it tends to get really really hot. Ah, weather …
