If you don’t live in Michigan, you might not understand that the awesomeness of summer brings with it one unwanted side effect: construction. It’s everywhere. There are moving work crews during the day that can snarl traffic for miles, total freeway closures for months on end that lead to endless detours, and weekend shutdowns that thwart travel plans.
This year, the city of Birmingham also decided to redo the infrastructure in basically all of downtown. It’s going to be so nice when it’s done, and I am totally starting to see progress. It hasn’t been that much of a pain and hasn’t stopped me from visiting the Starbucks Reserve every chance I get, but it’s just another construction headache.
One that made for some pretty cool pictures if you ask me. Downtown was quiet this day, the one following that whole concert hopping adventure with OneRepublic and Panic! At the Disco. The lack of people made for the perfect opportunity to see some friends, get way too caffeinated and take some pictures in the middle of the construction zone.
I wore a super fun, casual outfit that screams summer. My favorite Draper James cherry blouse started the outfit. I love wearing it and have paired it with every skirt I own basically. This denim skirt brought all the Sunday vibes.
Bring the orange barrels on! I’m ready for anything in my Loubis!
Blouse: Draper James // Skirt: 7 for all Mankind // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Bag: Dior
Sounds like a very nice outing and some great pictures indeed! Very cute, stylish summer outfit and it looks great on you! We will have to go to Birmingham when I come up.
Yes! That sounds amazing!
