There are some days when I am going out and I have absolutely no idea what I am going to wear. When I don’t have to be somewhere at a certain time, it’s okay. I have extra time to go through my closet and maybe try on a couple things to see what I like, what works. When I do have to be somewhere on time and am running late, it is a serious problem.
Equally as problematic is when I have an outfit idea in my mind and then when I put it on, I don’t love it for one reason or another. Every day is different, so sometimes clothes look different, feel different, and sometimes they just don’t suit my mood. We’ve all had those moments of standing in our closet and feeling like there is nothing to wear.
This outfit came out of one of those moments. Luckily, I did not have to be anywhere at a specific time so I was able to play around with my clothes. Even so I didn’t really know what I wanted to wear. I grabbed this top that I hadn’t worn yet and saw this skirt hanging near it.
On the surface do they go together? I mean, if I’m brutally honest, probably not. Do I like them together? Yeah. This is an outfit I really enjoyed wearing. I also loved the mermaid vibes it gave. The top with shimmery scales, the skirt that swayed with the current, the fish and shell earrings (you can’t really tell but I did in fact wear two different earrings), the unicorn/mermaid/rainbow fish shoes.
Sometimes it’s okay to take a fashion risk and have some fun. Life and fashion can’t be fun all the time, but they really should be whenever possible.
