I am slowly building my collection of green items in my wardrobe. It’s a great and flattering color to wear as there is a shade that flatters everyone. Plus, it’s one of those bright and happy colors that makes you as the wearer and everyone else who sees your vibrant green outfit happier.
And I would be lying to you if I said St. Patrick’s Day didn’t have something to do with it. I happily wear green year round, but there’s something about wearing it around March 17th that just feels right since there is some Irish heritage on my mom’s side of the family and we can all use a little extra luck. If wearing green gives me a tiny bit more luck, I’m good with that. If it doesn’t, it’s still really pretty.
Here are two green outfits I wore recently, and they could not be more different, further showcasing the versatility of green. One is on the more casual side with a top that would work with anything from jeans to a classic black skirt to the camel colored one I wore.
Because I wanted to pile on the green, I popped on my green heart earrings and green pumps because why not? Often, different shades of green work well together, as they do in nature. Think of a beautiful garden or forest and all the different shades of green that cohabitate.
The other outfit is much more glamorous and ready for an elevated and hopefully lucky special occasion. It’s a velvet dress that speaks for itself. Which is why I paired it with a grey bag and silver sequined shoes, plus the heart earrings again. I don’t get to wear this dress too often given it is velvet and I live in Florida but when the temperature is just right, I love pulling it out of my closet.
I hope you wear some green and have a lucky St. Patrick’s Day!

I wore green today! Thought of Gran and her grandmothers!! These are two very pretty outfits that you have on. I don’t have many green things in my wardrobe so I will try to add some this year.
