Pink and red are the obvious colors of Valentine’s Day. I love both of those colors anytime, and most definitely for Valentine’s Day. But sometimes I like branching out, doing something less than obvious.
While any color can really be just fine for Valentine’s Day, so is staying home or not celebrating at all, I do like leaning into a theme. This year, I am really inspired by shades of purple – lavender, violet, and everything in between. Purple is still an incredibly feminine shade that does give pink vibes, but in a more sophisticated way. It’s kind of like purple is pink’s more grown up big sister.
Both of these outfits are perfect for any festive occasion, but right now, I hope they offer some Valentine’s inspiration for you.
The long sleeved dress is one of my favorites. It’s so easy to wear year round (well, in Florida anyway 😉 ) since it has long sleeves but isn’t too warm. The ruffles, sparkles, knots in front and back, and the sheer back give all kinds of swoon worthy romantic vibes.
Then there is the strapless dress. It’s a darker shade for the base of the dress but the sequins in all shades of shimmery purple and even a few magenta ones give big time night out vibes. It’s a striking dress that makes a statement wherever it is worn.
You might notice I wore the same purse and shoes with these dresses. This is for a few reasons: they are some of my favorite pieces, they are super versatile, they also make a statement, and I love how purple and silver pair together.
Whether you are heading out for Valentine’s Day, staying in, or totally ignoring the holiday, I hope these looks offer inspiration for your next special occasion, which can be anything you want.

Both dresses are really pretty but I just love the long sleeved, ruffled one! Terrific look and so feminine! Both looks are just great with the silver accessories. Great job for this year’s valentine’s day.
