I remember painting with watercolors occasionally as a kid. We’d cover the kitchen table with newspaper (imagine that – we used to receive a daily newspaper), and mix all the pretty pastels into landscapes that weren’t all that good. But it was still fun and the end result was still soothing and pretty to look at because watercolors just have that pretty vibe, even if they are rather … shall we say abstract.
I put together this watercolor outfit for an outing over the weekend, and I love it. The palate is so soothing and springy. It was so nice for the partly cloudy, rather breezy day with the rose garden in Winter Park in full bloom.
The navy top served as an anchor for all the pretty pastels surrounding it. The baby pink of my favorite flowy skirt and sandals. Shades of peach, pink, and grey in my bag. A mix of blue and green in my eye makeup. A stunning shades of pinky nude for lipstick.
This is an outfit and color scheme that I want to wear all the time! I hope it inspires you to step out of all the classic colors and try some watercolor inspired hues.
I spent the afternoon having brunch at Ava Mediterraegean for the first time. I have been meaning to check it out since it opened, and I am so glad I finally did. It is a stunning restaurant with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Since the day was pretty much perfect outside, they had the large windows open with the best breeze blowing in. Moments like that are exactly why I moved to Florida. Brunch was tasty, and I can’t wait to return for another fun outing. I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area.
