You don’t have to go to Oz to get a little Wicked in your life around Orlando. To celebrate the second movie, Wicked: For Good coming out, the Wave Hotel in Lake Nona has an outdoor pop-up bar called The Ozmopolitan every Friday and Saturday night. They also did this last year, and I didn’t have the chance to check it out.
I wasn’t going to miss that opportunity this year, as I love Wicked. I have seen the musical four times, and I loved the first movie. There are so many wonderful themes, songs, and costumes in the show that I often think about.

My friend and I channeled our inner Glinda and Elphaba for a night out at The Ozmopolitan. Honestly it was just so fun to wear one of my favorite tulle dresses and don a bubble crown and wand. I love playing dress up and to do it with a friend, witch hat, broom stick, and all, was really special.
It was an absolutely lovely night to be out an about going down the yellow brick road … or sidewalk … to find the bar. It’s mostly about the vibes and photo ops. They have a fun space to pose, a singer, who wasn’t singing all Wicked songs, but did have a lovely voice, and some seating, though not enough for the bustling Friday evening.

The bar has a burger, sundae, and candied apples, along with several cocktail choices. We chose the Wizard and Rye and Everyone Deserves the Chance to Fly. The cocktails are batched, which is never my favorite, but they are unique and pretty tasty. Mostly, though it’s about the fun celebration for such an iconic work.

This weekend will be your last chance to visit the bar, though they have other pop-up bars from time to time and who knows? Maybe the Ozmopolitan will return!
After the bar, we went to Nami for dinner. I will have that review very soon!
Until then, let’s all go defy gravity <3
